Superfly
A rock band that debut in April 2007, now a solo rock act consisting of soloist Ochi Shiho, is heavily influenced by the music of artists such as the Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin. They have been making western music of the 60s and 70s popular in 21st century Japan through both their music and hippie-inspired fashion.
Superfly's two studio albums have all been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, and their three albums all debuted at the top of the Oricon's Weekly Album Charts, a first for a female recording artist in Japan in seven years.

Even though they sill establishing themselves amoust a plethora of Japanese rock bands, all of their albums have debut in the top 20 Oricon charts, with their rankings and fanbase increasing each year. Many of their songs have been used in such animes as Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and Haikyuu!!

Comprised of all females, this Japanese pop rock band, formed in August 2006 when the girls attended the same high school. They started performing every weekend on the streets, eventually making their major label debut in 2008.
With numerous overseas performances and anime theme songs, Scandal has built a considerable international fanbase. Some of the animes they've provided theme songs for include Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, and Pokemon. Every one of their albums has breached the top five Oricon charts.
